About Us

Sunday celebration

Welcome

As a team, we warmly welcome you to this website. We hope you will be encouraged by what God is doing here at The Ulster Temple Pentecostal Church. At The Ulster Temple we believe that every one of us has a God written destiny. It begins when we put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and start to live trusting Him with our future. Then God will take us on the great adventure that leads to Heaven.

The aim of this website is to give insight into the ministry and life of the Ulster Temple. We would like you to consider what God is doing, so that you may be encouraged to serve Him more. People join us for our Sunday Celebrations; meet together in our weekly cell meetings and various activities. They come to experience the love of Christ, forgiveness, joy and the presence of God in a community of like-minded people. As part of the Elim Pentecostal Church we believe that God desires His people to live through the power of the Holy Spirit then anything is possible when God is at work.

This is our prayer when we come to our weekly celebrations. Miracles can happen, lives can be changed and communities transformed.

Our desire is to live out a powerful practical faith that will prove to be a blessing to our community, friends and city for God!

May God bless you!

David Hamilton (Senior Pastor)

Pastor David Hamilton

David was born in Belfast and at the age of 13 he realised that he needed to start a relationship with God by starting to live for Jesus Christ. This transformation took place at a summer camp organised by the church at which he is now the Senior Pastor.

David is married to Hilary and they have 3 children.

After working as an electrician for 17 years, God started David on a life changing journey. This journey led him to attend Belfast Bible College and later into the Associate Pastors position of Ballysillan Elim Church. In 1991 he was inducted as the Senior Minister of the Ulster Temple Church.

David has a heart and vision to see Belfast transformed by God. To see the nations reached with the Good News of Jesus Christ, God’s Son. He desires to allow God to be at the centre of everything he does.

As part of realising this vision, he seeks through God to build a centre of excellence, a church of thousands that will reach the city of Belfast and the nations of the world. David hopes to see Christ centred denominations unite so that together they may work in a greater blessing of God.

Pastor David communicates God’s word through a bold, honest yet warm approach. As a respected Bible teacher he brings God’s word to light in a practical way that allows listeners not only to understand scripture but apply it to everyday real life situations. A strong leader and our Pastor!

Stephen Thompson (Associate Pastor)

To see the People of Ireland Crown Jesus Lord of their live”.

Stephen is married to Sharon and they have 2 daughters.

In January 2006, he took up the post as Associate Pastor of The Ulster Temple Pentecostal Church. Stephen possesses a wonderful ability to paint pictures with words, taking you on a journey of discovery into the Word of God.

Mission Statement

"Create an environment in which to become more like Christ and the opportunity to lead more people to Christ"

Matthew 4:18-19

Now Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And He said to them,

"Follow me and I will make you fishers of men."

Beliefs (What we believe)

No one has ever impacted the world like Jesus of Nazareth. He is without doubt unique in world history. Others have been famous, Alexander, Napoleon and Einstein but no other one person has changed history like Jesus. Even the date on your computer gives witness to the fact that Jesus lived on earth a little over 2000 years ago. Here at the Ulster Temple we believe that not only did He change history but He also can change your life. He’s not to be reserved for the history books because He lives today, not only unique and famous but exactly what He claimed to be- The Son of God.

Each member of our church has a relationship with Jesus. We have experienced His forgiveness, love, peace, joy and power in our lives. We know His presence in worship, prayer, and bible study and through friendship with one another. Each day as we live in His presence we discover that Jesus is indeed “the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6) and we invite you to do the same - live in His presence!

Our Church community is built upon four main truths about Jesus:

Jesus is our Saviour.

All of us are sinful, we have all done wrong and this separates us from our creator God. This sin deserves punishment, but when Jesus died upon the cross He took our punishment, He became sin for us, He became our rescuer, our Saviour. Jesus Christ God’s one and only Son died a cruel death so that you and I could be forgiven. Through Jesus alone can we know God and experience His love and power. As sinners (people who have sinned) we must respond to this truth by asking Jesus to forgive us of our sin and through simple faith, receive Him into our lives as Saviour and Lord.

Jesus is our Healer.

Jesus is interested in every area of our lives; He wants to meet us where our needs are and to be present in our circumstances. The Bible tells us many stories of Jesus healing people physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually and today is no different. So long as Jesus lives, Jesus heals. At the Ulster Temple we pray for the sick, recognizing that it is Jesus alone who heals.

Jesus is our Baptiser.

When Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, He did not leave us alone. He gave His Holy Spirit to be our helper and companion in the Christian life. Jesus wants each of us to experience the power and fellowship of the Holy Spirit in our lives. By asking Jesus to baptise (empower) us with the Holy Spirit, we are asking Him to fill every area of our lives and make us a more useful member of His church.

Jesus is our Coming King.

Jesus won the victory on the cross once and for all, Satan is a defeated enemy and the final destruction of all evil will come when Jesus returns again. The first time Jesus came to earth was as a baby in a manger, but on His Second Coming He will return as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The New Testament tells us He will return in glory and gather His people into the Heavenly Kingdom He is preparing for them. As a Bible-believing Church, we believe Jesus is like a Bridegroom returning for His bride, the Church, and we must not only be ready but desire His return.

You can have a relationship with Jesus today. Below is a prayer that if prayed sincerely from your heart will help you discover Jesus for yourself.

“Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for my sins, I open the door of my heart and receive you as my personal saviour. Forgive me for my sins, fill me with your Holy Spirit, and help me to follow you all the days of my life."

If you have prayed this prayer from your heart, then according to God’s word, the Bible, you are a new creation, a Christian, a child of God. We would love to hear from you if you prayed this prayer or if you would like to find out more about the Christian faith. All of us at the Ulster Temple would love to have you as part of our community.
