 ARK is an outreach ministry we provide
in the red light district of Belfast. The team consists of 3
gentlemen and 3 ladies. On the church minibus which we use to travel
around the city, the former intercede we minister to the ‘street
girls’.
We are a team of six born again
Christians who are dedicated to this work. We have been ministering
on the streets since 2004.
Each Monday evening we meet and pray
together from 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. before going into the City Centre.
Usually we stay out until 12:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., but this could
change from week to week.
Just by offering a cup of soup or coffee
in Jesus name has broken down many barriers, and opened up
opportunities to pray with the girls and show the love of Jesus.
We have had the privilege of leading
some girls to the Lord, bringing them to church, and rejoiced over
others giving up prostitution completely.
For this we give God all
the glory for what He is doing.

Our desire as a team would be to see
our City streets clear of prostitution, but more than that, to see,
‘Jesus bind the broken-hearted and set the captives (the ‘street
girls’ and the kerb-crawlers) set free'
We count it a privilege and
honour to minister to these girls, just by one act of kindness, a
broken heart can be healed. |
