Phil 2: 14 & 15 "Do everything
without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and
pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved
generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe."
"As Good As New", is a star, a
light deep in the heart of our community helping lead people to the
place where they can find Jesus! An outreach from The Ulster Temple Elim Pentecostal Church from which all the proceeds go to aid
mission and local community projects.
Harry, the shop manager says,
"People come in for more than furniture, they come in for prayer. We
give away Bibles and people are aware this is an outreach from the
church." One member of our community helped by the shop wrote a
letter thanking "the church for coming into the community".
Through various Government schemes
people get valuable work experience, helping them in their progress
from welfare into work. The fire that is reflected by Harry and the
team at "As Good As New" is one that people warm to and aren't burnt
by!
If you would like to help us bring
warmth and God's light to our neighbours we are always in need of
good quality furniture, electrical goods, bric-a-brac and books for
resale in our store. We would be very grateful for any such
donations.
So if you can help,
please don't hesitate to contact Harry.

Harry Irvine
Then together as God's community we
can keep this star burning brightly within the community, helping
lead searching hearts to the place where they can find Jesus!

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the
God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our
troubles, so that we can comfort those in any
trouble with the comfort we ourselves have
received from God."
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
The basis on M.A.S.K
M.A.S.K is a group for mums whose children have special needs.
It was birthed in the
hearts of two ladies (Denise and Pauline) who have children with
special needs.

The LAST DANCE video for Mothers Day
Whether your child is
young or old, whether they have a learning disability or any special
need, you could benefit from M.A.S.K.
We meet once a month
in the coffee lounge of the Ulster Temple, where we are blessed with
brunch, and where we have found a place to be able to share our ups
and downs and truly remove our masks, around women who understand
what it is like to be a mum of a special child. See photo below.

Mission Statement:
“To Commit
Indiscriminate Acts Of Kindness”

We try and achieve this in a
variety of ways, one of which being our Christmas hamper appeal. For
the last 6 years we have gave out hampers to families and
individuals in the local community.
On average we give out approx. 80-100 hampers each year. We also try and include toys to the homes
with children. This is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding parts
of the year for us as a Church and one in which the local community
is fully involved, either by receiving a gift or by donating to the
appeal itself.
Another area that is of great
importance to us is sponsoring pupils at local schools. In the past
we have been able to help towards the purchase of uniforms, school
photographs and swimming lessons. We do this with the full support
and knowledge of both parents and teachers.
Storehouse also works alongside
domestic violence groups in the city. We help residents in the
rehousing process with transport and assistance in
decorating/furnishing their new homes.
Throughout the year we work with
local groups and organisations to try and make a difference in local
peoples lives and the issues that affect them.
Below are some of the groups
and organisations we work with and support.
- The Bridge
- Sydenham house ladies refuge
- Ravenhill adult centre
- Mornington project
- Nettlefield Primary school
- PSNI Williowfield and PSNI domestic
violence unit
- Lower Ravenhill Community??
- Contact youth (youth counselling

Our motivation for all of these
activities is simply to show in a practical way that God is
interested in the lives of ordinary people. There is no hidden
agenda and no strings attached, they are what they are
“indiscriminate acts of kindness”.
A practical outreach
supported & funded entirely by the congregation of the Ulster
Temple.
Our aim is to help local people with their everyday needs.
