Storehouse

A practical outreach supported & funded entirely by the congregation of the Ulster Temple. Our aim is to help local people with their everyday needs.

..

We try and achieve this in a variety of ways, one of which being our Christmas hamper appeal. For the last 6 years we have gave out hampers to families and individuals in the local community.

On average we give out approx. 80-100 hampers each year. We also try and include toys to the homes with children. This is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding parts of the year for us as a Church and one in which the local community is fully involved, either by receiving a gift or by donating to the appeal itself.

Another area that is of great importance to us is sponsoring pupils at local schools. In the past we have been able to help towards the purchase of uniforms, school photographs and swimming lessons. We do this with the full support and knowledge of both parents and teachers.

Storehouse also works alongside domestic violence groups in the city. We help residents in the rehousing process with transport and assistance in decorating/furnishing their new homes.

Throughout the year we work with local groups and organisations to try and make a difference in local peoples lives and the issues that affect them.

Below are some of the groups and organisations we work with and support

- Ravenhill adult centre

Our motivation for all of these activities is simply to show in a practical way that God is interested in the lives of ordinary people. There is no hidden agenda and no strings attached, they are what they are “indiscriminate acts of kindness”.
